I don't have any apple products... happy

apart from the apples in my fruit bowl xD

Some of the features on a mac are quite nice but that is as far as I'm giving them praise xD
they can look pretty nice too..

I don't like windows either, but beggars can't be choosers.. :/

its also what all three of the divisions of the army use. Air force uses Red Hat, Marines use Arch and the other one uses a KDE distro T_T

Your wrong. The MacBook air is definitely a great update. At least for me anyway. I hate using a disk drive, now i always put my files on my USB 8GB. If you want to play a game all you do is stick the files on your USB drive and download a script that lets you run the game from the USB. There is only 1 USB? Not a problem, there are extenders that are very small that make it 4 USB Ports. What makes the air so great is that it does not need a Disc Drive to perform Disc tasks. Also the speed of air. Most ultra portables are 1.0 Ghz 1GB Ram, sometimes 512 Ram. The air can be 1.8Ghz and @GB of RAM. Thats unbelievable. If you ask me, $3000 for the high end MacBook Air is a bargain.

@purry: but in my mind, smaller PC should = smaller money like in the case of a AEEE or the OLPC and all of those extensions add bulk to what u have to carry around which defeats the purpose of an ultra portable laptop. If the air was meant to be a desktop replacement then it would be fine but its not.

I only need to carry around 1 extension for the USB. That can fit in my pocket.

yeah, but what if u need a CD drive? imo, the mac book air is good for two things. an extreamly smalll 80 gig external with a screen and for a really rich buz executive who only needs to present powerpoints.
