I think the new MacBook is a COMPLETE waste of money. It's only 2 pounds lighter, and look at all the things you lose (ethernet, speed, usb ports, DISC DRIVE...) It's also $800 more than a macbook, redicolous.

EXACTLY. by the way, the macbook air uses the SAME harddrive as the ipod classic does, lol. They couldn't even put in the 160GB one :nervous:

nope. The $1799 has an 80GB iPod Classic Parallel ATA Harddrive. The $3,098 one has a 64GB Solid State Hard drive

I concur! I mean, your sacrificing size for features and that is not the best move for this product. I'm sure v2 of it will hopefully bring back some of this 'important' aspects to a standard MacBook.

It's being touted as a secondary computer, not something that you might own singly. But many people will have it as just that... if it had an optical drive and at least two USB ports, I might be tempted to consider it in the future.

its not that bad, it is pretty sexy even though it has less features
plus its supposed to be for people who are rich and only like ultraportables

haha, yeah i agree with manufn619.

but if they wanted more ppl to consider it, it should have had a optical drive and 2 usb ports. whats the deal with the extreme thinness??? look at some other ultraportables, they dont need a $99 external drive :l
