Hi everyone,
I'm still yet very young to the deskmodding scene and till now I am not 100% sure which dock to use under my Win XP. I've noticed most people use RKLauncher or Object Dock, right now I am using the second one, which works fine for me, still I'd love to know which are the pros and cons of the several available docks, which ones exist besides Object Dock and RKLauncher and what is Ave Desk?
Thanks a lot for your help!

RK Launcher is probably the most widely used, and its a pretty good dock. Objectdock is payware, has tabs and you can add realistic reflections without losing the indicators (in rk launcher you lose the indicators once you move the icons down since there is not seperate option for them)
I think others can explain in much more detail, but thats just some basics _________________ Founder of Galaxy GUI |

You don't have to pay for Objectdock, Stardock do a free version of it as well _________________

I'd like to only discuss the freeware version of Object Dock at this moment. Which one needs more resources RKLauncher or OD? Any special features? Is RKLauncher able to display minimized windows like OD? |

forget all of those get Rocketdock its awsome it has more options as RKl and has the compatibility of objectdock-indicator wise also no s-curve flaw
its pwnzor with 2d and 3d leopard docks
you can use both skins form ob and rkl
only problem is changing the indicator/you have to do it manually
you can also get tabs via avedesk... |

What kind of options does RD offer which RKL hasn't got? What do you mean with compatibility of OD indicators? (sorry I am a non native..) What's the s-curve flaw? |

I'm actually testing the three main ones, i did RK and RD, now i'm OD, the only different thing with OD, is that when you maximize a window, it doesn't go over the dock. _________________ My DeviantART |

Hey jayx,
Yes, that's one of the options that you can actually disable if you want to, still I'd love to know which one you like best right now and it would be nice if you would have tested the resources the docks need, having the same skin and icons in use |

Objectdock has a cool feature where you can search for an icon even through folders which is handy if you have a huge icon collection. _________________
